CUTEK® Euro

CUTEK® Euro is a copper-free formulation of CUTEK®’s Extreme CD50. It can be applied to very light-coloured timbers where the possibility of a faint green hue can occur in the timber when using CUTEK® Extreme CD50.

CUTEK® Extreme CD50

Proven high performance penetrating oil/stabiliser with a unique self healing effect that works from the inside out to control moisture, and minimise warping, cupping and splitting. CUTEK® Extreme CD50 improves the service life, and enhances the natural beauty of your timber.

Acetylated Wood

Acetylated wood can be finished with CUTEK®, but due to the unique nature of the acetylation process, results may vary. To achieve the best outcome, we recommend using CUTEK® Eco or CUTEK® Euro rather than CUTEK® Extreme CD50, as these copper-free formulations are less likely to react with any residual acid from the treatment process.

Because the acetylation process can introduce chemical variations, we can’t guarantee specific results. To ensure CUTEK® Eco or CUTEK® Euro is the right fit for your timber, we strongly recommend testing it on a small, inconspicuous area before starting your project.

Can CUTEK® timber oils be used around swimming pools?

Yes, CUTEK® Extreme CD50 are suitable for use around swimming pools. Indeed, the inside out moisture protection imparted by CUTEK® exterior oils is desirable in wood that comes in contact with water. We recommend the use of clear rather than colourtoned CUTEK® oils on timber that is subjected to a constant washing action from swimming pool activities because of the rapid rate of colour erosion that occurs with frequent water contact.  This way the necessity for frequent recoating for colour retention is avoided while the timber remains protected from constant damaging water ingress.  Please be aware that powerful pool chemicals that are allowed to contact CUTEK® coated wood in a concentrated form may stain coated timbers. CUTEK® exterior oils are not suitable for use on timber that is permanently immersed in water.
